Latency Children at Risk: The Ethical Dilemma of Cure 2025

Latency Children at Risk: The Ethical Dilemma of Cure Cassie: From Violent Eruptions to Gathering Simon Cregreen presents a case study of an abused girl. This is a condensed account of a psychoanalytic psychotherapy undertaken in a UK National Health Service, over 5 years with a young girl, who was taken into care by the Local Authority, due to severe neglect and violence between the parental couple, and towards Cassie and her siblings. Simon will discuss how, in the process of being understood, there were developments in Cassie's shifting states of mind, from predominantly narcissistic, violent and confused states, to a mind more securely shaped by trust, thoughtfulness and a clearer gender identity.
