Who And What Am I Now

Dr Susan L. Donner will address how a psychoanalytic play therapy model addresses a child's developmental and emotional state while providing a safe and containing developmental object relationship for the child to use to build internal psychic structure. When working with a child with multiple developmental delays, however, the child analyst, in multiple transferential and developmental roles, must decipher the "confusion of tongues" that can overwhelm such children and families and help guide the child and family onto a trajectory of progressive development.
