Winnicott Online Theory Course
In these six introduction lectures, Winnicott is situated in his historic context and his contributions to psychoanalytic theory and practice are considered.
Several key papers are read which show how Winnicott evolved in his own theory of early infant development up to adolescence are discussed, as well as his papers on transitional phenomena, his theory on play, and theory of the True Self and False Self, and the antisocial personality. His interest in transitional space and play as a fundamental component of creative living through his influential paper, "Transitional Phenomena and Objects" is discussed.
