Between Partnering and Parenting: Psychoanalytic Approaches to Working with the Parental Couple
This three-hour half-day seminar will consider some of the challenges that arise in psychotherapy with the parental couple; in particular the seminar will consider how the use of couple psychoanalytic psychotherapy theory can be applied to enhance the work. This way of thinking and working is rooted in the theories and practice developed by clinicians and teachers at Tavistock Relationships (London) over the past 60 years.
Alison Bruce will present two vignettes, where parenting issues are raised, which the two Facilitators will discuss and then open the discussion for audience participation.
Kerri Ann Alexander will present a parental couple case, which Alison and Simon will supervise, and will invite comments from the participants.
