Learning our lines

Our lives have changed irrevocably in the last 18 months. Few would say for
the better, many for the worse, and devastatingly too many would say their
particular lives are as bad as ever. The fact that so many lives have forever been poverty-stricken and deprived of even the basic requirements of living, such as food and safe shelter, is a travesty. The ‘forever’ so in contrast to what Nelson Mandela must have had in his mind’s eye in 1994 when
he said in his inauguration speech, “Never, never and never again shall it be that this beautiful land will again experience the oppression of one by another.”
